FAQs
What can I expect in my appointment with Dr Leisha?
Dr. Leisha takes a unique approach to patient care, offering longer appointments to provide thorough, personalised attention. She believes that taking the time to listen to her patients fosters a trusting doctor-patient relationship, which is essential for optimising your health and wellbeing.
Recognising that everyone is different, Dr. Leisha tailors each consultation to suit your individual needs. During a typical first appointment, she will focus on understanding and addressing your immediate concerns. You will usually leave with recommendations for further investigations, new medication, or lifestyle adjustments. A follow-up appointment will be recommended to review these steps and make any necessary adjustments to your care.
In the follow-up appointment, Dr. Leisha will review your results and collaborate with you to develop a tailored, long-term health plan. This plan is designed to address your immediate health needs while supporting your overall wellbeing for the future. Dr. Leisha’s approach ensures every patient receives comprehensive, compassionate, and individualised care.
What is Dr. Leisha's policy on results?
Depending on the type of test requested, results can take anywhere from 2 days (e.g., blood tests, imaging) to a couple of weeks (e.g., cervical screening, genetic tests) to return. All results are sent directly to Dr. Leisha, who aims to review them promptly, even on her days off.
Normal Results: If the result is normal, you will receive an automated message from the system indicating that no follow-up is required.
Results Requiring Discussion: If Dr. Leisha needs to discuss a result with you, you will typically receive an automated text prompting you to book either an urgent or non-urgent appointment.
Direct Communication: In some cases, a nurse will call or message you with the result, or Dr. Leisha may call you directly.
For phone consultations initiated by Dr. Leisha:
Patients holding a Medicare card will be bulk-billed, with no out-of-pocket fee.
Patients without a Medicare card will be charged a highly discounted fee.
Dr. Leisha ensures results are communicated efficiently and appropriately, prioritizing your health and peace of mind.
If you have further questions about your results or the process, feel free to contact our clinic.

What is a Chronic Disease Management Plan?
The Australian Government's Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan is designed to support patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions that have been present, or are likely to be present, for six months or longer. Dr. Leisha can assess your eligibility and discuss the benefits of this plan in detail.
Through the CDM Plan, Dr. Leisha can help better coordinate your care and ensure ongoing follow-up. If you are eligible, the plan provides:
